DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will be the Chair of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS) and will hold the Leland A and Glaydis K Barber Distinguished Professorship in Dentistry. The Department includes Divisions of Behavioral Sciences Professionalism and Ethics, Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Endodontics, General Dentistry, Oral Epidemiology/Dental Public Health, and Prosthodontics. This broad range of divisional units is grouped around themes of prevention, early assessment and minimally invasive treatment of caries, and primary and tertiary treatment of conditions that affect the integrity and function of the dentition, including the social and behavioral aspects of disease management.
The successful candidate will take a strong leadership role in the teaching, research, patient care and service missions of the Department and School, and will be responsible for the overall strategic planning and management of the Department.
REQUIREMENTS: DDS degree (or equivalent) and/or PhD degree; a record of exceptional academic, clinical and/or research achievement; and successful experience in academic and clinical management.
